Feng (Albert) Yang

Feng (Albert) Yang began their career in 1981 as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Harbin Institute of Technology, where he taught DSP, pattern recognition, and image processing courses to undergrads and grads. In 1991, he joined Array Computing as a DSP Engineer, where he worked on satellite imaging, sonar, and DSP-based radar scan converter. Dr. Yang then moved to Nortel in 1992, where he was an MSS Software Architect. In 1996, he joined Opti, Inc. as a Sr. DSP Engineer, followed by Techwell in 1997 as a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. In 2000, he co-founded Fortemedia, where he played a key role in developing the small array microphone market for voice communication. Finally, in 2006, he founded Topaz Labs and served as Founder, President, and CTO. During his time at Topaz Labs, He led the development of A.I.-based image and video enhancement products widely used by millions of creative professionals.
 

Education

Feng obtained a B.S. and an M.S. in Image Processing and Pattern Recognition from the Harbin Institute of Technology from 1977 to 1981. Feng then went on to complete his Ph.D. in Computer Vision at the University of Waterloo.
